Hurricane Helene Resilience Funding
The Georgia Environmental Finance Authority (GEFA) is eligible to apply to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) for funds to address the impacts of Hurricane Helene and promote resilience in drinking water and wastewater facilities in Georgia, including decentralized wastewater facilities.
GEFA intends to apply to EPA by early 2026 for the following allocated funding amounts:
- Clean Water State Revolving Fund (CWSRF) – $124,892,000
- Drinking Water State Revolving Fund (DWSRF) – $359,487,000
- Decentralized Wastewater – $8,956,000
The call for projects for the Hurricane Helene Resilience Funding will conclude Wednesday, December 31, 2025. During the call for projects, eligible applicants should submit preliminary details concerning projects they would like to receive funding under the program.
For a project to be eligible for Helene resilience funding through GEFA, it must be SRF eligible and serve the overall purpose of enhancing the resilience of drinking water, wastewater, and decentralized wastewater systems to flooding and natural disasters.
GEFA will host an informational webinar on Monday, October 6, 2025, to assist interested applicants to better understand eligible projects and pre-application requirements. See resources section below for webinar registration information.
