Public employees working for GEFA enjoy a wealth of benefits for their service, including:

Annual Leave: Accrual of annual leave is based on years of continuous service and is earned as follows:

10 hours per month for up to 5 years of service
12 hours per month for 5-10 years of service
14 hours per month for 10+ years of service

Sick Leave: Accrual is at the rate of 10 hours per month regardless of years of service.

Holidays: Employees enjoy 12 paid holidays per year.

Insurance: Employees have the opportunity to participate in a variety of insurance options, including health (Georgia Department of Community Health), dental, vision, legal, disability, and healthcare and childcare spending accounts (Department of Administrative Services – Human Resources Administration).

Retirement Plan: Employees participate in the Employees’ Retirement System. Contributions are based on a percentage of the employee's salary.

Credit Union: Employees are eligible to become members of the Georgia United Credit Union.

College Savings Plan: Employees are eligible to participate; however, GEFA nor State Personnel Administration administer the College Savings Plan. Employees can contact Georgia Higher Education Savings Plan directly to enroll.
