The solicitation period for 2019 Clean Water and Drinking Water State Revolving Fund (SRF) projects is open through December 31, 2018.

The SRFs provide low-interest financing for publicly-owned water and wastewater projects. Pre-applications for eligible projects will be evaluated for inclusion on the 2019 Clean Water or Drinking Water Intended Use Plan.

Through a partnership with the UNC Environmental Finance Center, GEFA updated the affordability criteria to provide principal forgiveness to communities most in need of financial assistance.

Eligibility for principal forgiveness will be based on American Community Survey data from the U.S. Census Bureau including median household income (MHI), population change, and unemployment rate. Project readiness will remain an important factor in project scoring.
